Carl Ben Eielson collection, 1924-1957.

The Carl Ben Eielson Collection has two components. The first is a scrapbook of newspaper clippings concerning the search for Eielson and his mechanic, Earl Borland, after they failed to return from a flight in 1929. The second consists of clippings, articles, and miscellaneous typescripts concerning Eielson's accomplishments and memorials honoring him, and transcripts of interviews with Bill Hutchinson and Bill Lavery concerning the first plane Eielson flew in Alaska.
